As a real estate agent I rarely think about what happens after we close on a home. This is usually where our job ends, but when a buyer receives the keys to their new home, that is when the difficult part starts. I recently purchased a new home and since I am an avid art collector, I decided to move on my own. I thought I would rent a U-Haul and just make a couple trips back and forth from my old home to my new place. Boy was I wrong! There are many things that need to be done way ahead of time to limit the speed bumps along the way. As soon as escrow opens here are my tips for moving.
