Josh: Real Estate Is About Relationships

Josh Altman explains why not making a sell in this episode actually helped his business.

This was a fun episode for me. I got to find a commercial space for one of my mentors, Daymond John. This guy needs no introduction as any entrepreneur knows who he is as he is one of the most successful stories of starting from the bottom and building a billion dollar business.

What many people don't know about The Altman Brothers (#thealtmanbrothers) is that not only do we specialize in residential, but we also specialize in commercial real estate in Los Angeles.

In every episode I like to talk about a lesson learned. In this episode, what you should take away from it is that this business of real estate is all about relationships. That's how I got to where I am today, as a huge amount of my deals are referrals from happy clients. People know that I'm the best at what I do, and therefore they tell all their friends, and business grows. Although I didn't make a sale to Daymond, I very well could have and made a sizable commission. But it's not about that. It's about knowing you got your client the best deal and the best real estate for their needs and keeping that relationship. That's why I followed my gut and told Daymond not to move forward.

Since then, Daymond and I have done a lot of business together.

Can't wait until the next episode, the finale!
